James Kevin Benjamin, M.D.

Dr. Benjamin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount St. Mary’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1983. He obtained his medical degree in 1990 from Eastern Virginia Medical School and then performed his residency in internal medicine at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania until 1991. From there he practiced diagnostic radiology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until 1995. During 1995, Dr. Benjamin obtained his certification from the American Board of Radiology and moved to Cumberland, Maryland to work in diagnostic radiology at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, Meyersdale Medical Center in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Maryland. With the merger of two Cumberland Hospitals in 1999, Memorial Hospital and Medical Center along with the former Sacred Heart Hospital became part of the Western Maryland Health System. Dr. Benjamin continues to work on both campuses of the WMHS. In 2004, Allegany Imaging began serving Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia and the Oakland MRI Center in Oakland, Maryland. Dr. Benjamin is a member of the following organizations: American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, American Medical Association, Medical and Chirugical Faculty of Maryland, and Allegany County Medical Society.

George Michael Dwyer, M.D.

Dr. Dwyer graduated from the Medical School of Ohio in 1985 with his medical degree. His post-graduate training included orthopedic surgery from 1985 – 1986 and diagnostic radiology from 1986 – 1988 at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, and diagnostic radiology at Wayne State University also in Detroit, from 1988 – 1990. In 1990, he was certified by the American Board of Radiology. As Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve, Dr. Dwyer served as a Staff Radiologist in Fleet Hospital Five during operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia. The remainder of his military service took place at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dr. Dwyer then moved to Cumberland, Maryland to work in Diagnostic Radiology at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, Meyersdale Medical Center in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Maryland. Herbert Stanley Lambert, III, M.D.

A native of Western Maryland, Dr. Lambert attended the University of Maryland, College Park and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Neurobiology in 1992. He obtained his medical degree from the University of North Carolina in 1997 and received the Academic Merit Award. He was also awarded Intern Teacher of the Year during his Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Virginia Roanoke-Salem, Roanoke Virginia in 1998. Dr. Lambert performed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency as Chief Resident from 1998 – 2002 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

After completion of his residency, Dr. Lambert moved back to Western Maryland and joined the practice of Allegany Imaging to work in Diagnostic Radiology at the Western Maryland Health System, Meyersdale Medical Center in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Maryland. In 2004, Allegany Imaging began serving Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia and the Oakland MRI Center in Oakland, Maryland. Dr. Lambert is a member of the American College of Radiology.

At this time Dr. Lambert is working with Western Maryland Health System/Cumberland, MD, Garrett Regional Medial Center/Oakland, MD, and Garrett Medical Group/Urgent Care/Deep Creek Lake, MD. 

John N. Pappas, M.D.

Dr. Pappas obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California at Davis in 1992. He attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York and graduated with his medical degree in 1996. Dr. Pappas performed a Surgical Pathology Internship in New York Hospital at Cornell University Medical Center, New York, New York and then went to Duke University Medical Center and served as Chief Resident during his Diagnostic Radiology Residency, which was completed in 2001. The American Board of Radiology certified Dr. Pappas in 2001. The following year, Dr. Pappas completed a Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Pappas worked with Vascular & Interventional Associates at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Virginia until 2004 when he joined Allegany Imaging, P.C. Dr. Pappas now works at both campuses of the Western Maryland Health System performing vascular procedures interventional radiology services. In 2004, Allegany Imaging began serving Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia and the Oakland MRI Center in Oakland, Maryland. Dr. Pappas is a member of the following organizations: Society of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology, American Association of Academic Chief Residents in Radiology, American College of Radiology, Radiology Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound, and College of American Pathologists

Marcos Roffe, M.D.

Dr. Marcos Roffe earned his medical degree from the National University of Mexico Medical School in 1980. After completing his internship in internal medicine at Baltimore’s Sinai Hospital in 1983, Dr. Roffe performed a general surgery residency at Booth Medical Center in New York through 1985 and a radiology residency at Brooklyn’s Long Island College Hospital between 1985 and 1989. He then completed a two-year fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Boston’s New England Deaconess Hospital-Harvard Medical School in 1991. Dr. Roffe became board certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology in 1989 and obtained additional qualifications in vascular and interventional radiology in 1995. That same year, he began serving as director of interventional radiology at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, where he also held the position of diagnostic imaging chairman, starting in 2001. In 2007, Dr. Roffe joined the team of radiologists at Allegany Imaging, which provides radiology services to the Western Maryland Health System, Garrett County Memorial Hospital and the Oakland MRI Center in Oakland, Maryland, and Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia. His expertise lies in the minimally invasive treatment of peripheral vascular disease, the embolization of uterine fibroids, and venous interventions, among other types of interventional procedures. Dr. Roffe holds membership in the following organizations: the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Interventional Radiology, Chesapeake Interventional Radiology Society, for which he served as vice president from 2002 to 2003; and the Radiological Society of North America.
