Preparing for your Bone Mineral Density Exam

Wear loose comfortable clothing preferably with no zipper or metal. DXA scans take less than 20 minutes.

Any oral, IV contrast or Nuclear Medicine tests being preformed 7 days prior to your DXA appointment will need to be rescheduled.

The results of your DXA scan will be available two days after your exam. These results will be sent to the physician that ordered your exam.
